Sonoma Valley is saying goodbye to 2010 in grand style tonight, Dec. 31, with options ranging from a glitzy celebration for charity, to several no cover events. The showcase event of the Valley has to be the appearance of regional act, dance band extraordinaire Pride and Joy at the Lodge at Sonoma in the big top tent as a benefit for the Sonoma Valley Mentoring Alliance. The evening includes a cocktail reception, gourmet dinner, a unique auction, champagne at midnight and of course, dancing. Local crooner, the Sonoma Sinatra, also known as Stan Pappas, will be paying tribute to the Chairman of the Board, Frank Sinatra, tonight, Dec. 31, for a 7 p.m. show at the Meritage Martini and Oyster Bar. Noche Tropical will be providing a night of authentic Mexican music with a seven piece band at La Casa Restaurant tonight, Dec. 31, kicking off at 9:30 p.m. You may have caught the act at this years Cinco de Mayo party at the venue, playing cumbias, corridos, boleros, zapateados, and more. Dana Land and her quartet will be in the Lodge at Sonoma’s Gallery Lounge tonight, Dec. 31, for an evening of jazz with a band that features Jonathan Alford, John Hoy and Jeff Sanford.
