Unauthorized Rolling Stones – FAHA Center
They’ve been called the next best thing, and a blast from the past, but one thing is for sure, Rudy Columbini has got his tribute act to the Rolling Stones finely tuned. In 2014 he ramped up the talent in the act, landing rock veterans from acts like Huey Lewis, Whitesnake, Rick Derringer, Sons of Champlin, Boz Scaggs and more to finely polish the act. So much that David Patrick of Spectator magazine, and the actual bands photographer for 20 years to state “They sounded more like the Rolling Stones than the Rolling Stones do. In fact, The Unauthorized Rolling Stones sang many of Stones’ songs better than the Stones!”
Your chance to catch the act right here is Sonoma is Saturday, Sept. 12 at the FAHA Heritage Center in El Verano for dining and dancing under the stars with food provided by El Molino of Sonoma and a no-host bar. Tickets can be purchased online at fahausa.org/store/harvestrock.html. For more info, call 935-0200.

Double Bill – Rossi’s 1906
The East Coast and West Coast meets on the stage at Rossi’s 1906 Dancehall on Saturday, Sept. 12 with a couple acts that won’t easily fit on the stage. The night starts with the Cruz from Santa Rosa and wraps up with the Rad Trads from New York City.
The Crux, headed up by Josh Windmiller, combines the sounds of Gypsy jazz, blues, klezmer, gospel, pirate and more into a musical offering that is like something you’ve never heard. Technically a “punk-funk” band, the band can contain any number of instruments and performers on any given night. It’s very possible the act could have you marching around the dance floor with them by the end of the show.
The Rad Trads, out of New York City, describe themselves as a “horn-powered” band that turns jazz into rock and roll. Gigging primarily the indie-rock circuit, the act has turned themselves into one to watch for on the east coast and is heading out west for a mini-tour that starts at Rossi’s on Saturday, then continues to the Russian River Jazz fest and up the west coast. Formed in 2012, when all the members were finalizing their degrees in jazz and on a whim decided to pick up a gig. The second gig they did was over three hours long, and for an act that literally only knew five or so songs before the show, they knew they were on to something.
The show kicks off at 9 p.m. For tickets and more info, point your browser to rossis1906.com and see the calendar page.
