Once again, It’s time for the monthly Hawaiian dance party on Saturday, March 26, at the Sonoma Woman’s Club. The event is primarily for fun and to invite the community to participate, enjoy and learn about Hawaiian music, but the proceeds from the event have been helping with the costs of upkeep and maintenance of the historic 100 year-old building.
Del Medina, referred to in the local hula circles as “the North Bay’s King of Kanikapila” takes the stage with his ukulele and leads the afternoon from Hawaiian songbooks. “Kanikapila” means Hawaiian jam session. The party is presented by the local hula group Hula Mai and all are welcome to bring an instrument and join in on the fun. The songs are half traditional Hawaiian and half American pop, so they’ll be room for anyone, be it on a guitar, ukulele, kazoo or even a foot stomper or two.
The event gets under way at 2 p.m. Admission is a $5 donation and snacks will be provided with beverages available for purchase. For more info, point your browser to hulamai.org.

Hey!
Thanks for plugging our gig with The Bumblin’ Bones! I’m Van Solkov and I play bass and write songs for Stone Cold Mollie; maybe you’ll come out tomorrow and check us out at Rossi’s!?
Again, thanks for the plug!
