Mondo American Beer Garden will have Tony Gibson on Wednesday, Nov. 24, at 7 p.m.

The Olde Sonoma Public House in Boyes Hot Springs will have music from BackTrax playing a both a Rolling Stones and Tom Petty set on Friday, Nov. 26, at 7 p.m.

The Plaza Bistro will have the Pete Yellin Trio in the back room on Friday, Nov. 26, at 7 p.m.

Sebastiani Winery and Vineyards will have no music on Friday, Nov. 26, due to a special event.

Murphy’s Irish Pub will have the David Thom Band on Friday, Nov. 26, at 8 p.m…

Olive & Vine has Cynthia Tarr for a 7 p.m. show on Friday, Nov. 26.

Cypress String Quartet at Burlingame Hall

The Sonoma Classical Music Society inaugurates its seventh season of bringing classical music to Sonoma and the Sonoma Valley, as it presents the San Francisco based Cypress String Quartet at Burlingame Hall on Sunday, Nov. 21, at 3 p.m. Formed in 1996, the Cypress String Quartet is noted for its elegant performances and a sound that has been called “beautifully proportioned and powerful. The quartet includes Cecily Ward on violin, Tom Stone on violin, Ethan Filner on viola, and Jennifer Kloetzel on cello. The quartet will perform Mozart’s String Quartet in C major, K. 465, nicknamed “Dissonant,” the last of the set of six quartets which Mozart dedicated to his friend Franz Joseph Haydn and one of his most famous works, among other pieces. Tickets are available at Reader’s Books, Pharmaca and at the door.

The Sebastiani Theatre is busy again this weekend, with the final performance of “MJ, It’s all for Love,” a tribute to the music of Michael Jackson, that will go off on Saturday, Nov. 20, at 2 p.m. Last weeks shows played to packed houses. Sunday, Nov. 21, brings in the comedic folk songs of Henry Philips. Philips has performed on Comedy Central, Jimmy Kimmel Live and more. Showtime is 7 p.m. and tickets will be available at the door. The show is recommended for adults only.

The Vintage House senior center will be having a fundraiser on Saturday, Nov. 20, and in addition to Scot Anderson and Sage catering and mixologists from San Francisco, there will be music by Welsa Whitfield, performing songs from the Great American Songbook. She will be accompanied by Mike Greensill, and after her show, Greensill and his band will entertain for dancing. There are 2 levels of admission, with a special reception and show at 5 p.m. and a general admission seating at 6 p.m. For tickets and more info, call 996-0311.

On the heels of the news that Neil Young’s warehouse where he stored over 40 years of memorabilia caught fire, Joe Chaplain will be doing his annual Neil Young tribute on Saturday, Nov. 20, at the Barking Dog in Boyes Hot Springs. The show kicks off at 6 p.m.

Speaking of tributes, BackTrax will be at Sebastiani Vineyards and Winery tonight, Nov. 19, with an encore performance of the Tom Petty tribute they played locally last month. In addition, it is Sonoma County appreciation week at the winery, with discounts on some wine that will rival the employee price. The show kicks off at 6:30 p.m. and there is no cover. Dinner will be available from Meadow Brooke catering.

Amanda King will be at the Plaza Bistro tonight, Nov. 19, for an evening of jazz in the back room. King is a classic chanteuse who exudes stage presence and powerful vocal skills, performing songs from the ‘30s and ‘40s as well as standards from the Great American Songbook. The show goes off at 7 p.m. and there is no cover.

Olive & Vine will have the smooch vibes of Groove Society tonight, Nov. 19, for a 7 p.m. show. Members of the band have performed with the likes of Etta James, Bill Champlain and John Lee Hooker, to name a few. There is no cover for the show.

Steiners Tavern will bring in Showcase, the Band tonight, Nov. 19, at 7 p.m.

El Verano will be hopping this weekend with the El Verano Inn hosting the musical tribute to Jimi Hendrix with Ralph Woodson on Saturday, Nov. 20. We checked out a video of the performer and the guy is the real deal. Showtime is 9 p.m.

Tommy Thomsen will bring his award-winning western swing sounds to Little Switzerland on Saturday, Nov. 20, for an 8 p.m. show.

Murphy’s Irish Pub will have Kith and Kin tonight, Nov. 19, at 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 20, has the folk tunes of the Perfect Crime, also for an 8 p.m. start. EZ Kewl is back at the pub on Sunday, Nov. 21, for an early show that will go off at 6 p.m.

The Schellville Grill also has EZ Kewl this weekend, tonight, Nov. 19, for a night of jazzy tunes starting at 7 p.m.

Sonoma Springs Brewery has the roots-reggae folk vibes of Dan Martin tonight, Nov. 19, for a 7 p.m. show.

Holiday in Carneros is this weekend, where the best of what wineries in the Carneros region have to offer is showcased both Saturday, Nov. 20, and Sunday, Nov. 21, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Many of the wineries will have music with Ceja Winery and Vineyards featuring the popular bay-area salsa band Orquesta Borinquen. Cline Cellars will have the original rock sounds of the Maldonado Brothers, who have been known to lay down a cover song or two as well. Truchard Vineyards will have Richard Bolman laying down the tunes. Meadowcraft Wines will have the Blues Dudes for some dancing grooves. Imagery Estate Winery has the Cork Pullers for an afternoon of music on Saturday, Nov. 20, for a 1 p.m. show.

Many Sonoma folks are on the road this weekend, including Adam Traum who will be playing his debut performance at the Woods Music Hall in Mill Valley on Saturday, Nov. 20. On the bill with Traum will be Baby Gramps and Eric McFadden. Showtime is 8 p.m.

Mad and Eddie Duran take their show on the road to the Art House Gallery in Berkeley on Saturday, Nov. 20, for a show called “A Pair of Pairs,” which will pair the Durans with Serafina Brown and Steve Webber. Showtime is 8 p.m.

Stephanie Ozer takes her Brazilian piano sounds to the Hotel Healdsburg Saturday, Nov. 20, for a 7:30 p.m. show.

The Jon Popenoe Duo will be at Rickey’s in Novato tonight, Nov. 19, for a 7 p.m. show.
