Reggae show at the Moose Lodge

Local DJ “Robert Roots” is putting on a reggae dance show on Saturday, Nov. 27, at the Moose Lodge. The bill has some big names in the reggae scene, headlined by Lymie Murray who is on his Deep Roots Tour. The show will have DJ’s Broken Silence Sound, Irie Sounds International and Conquering Lion Sound between sets and backing some of the performers. Also on the bill are Jah Bami, Jah Thunder Wisdom, Joshua and Tidal Wave. Jah is referenced in many reggae songs and bands out of respect for god, including the legendary Bob Marley in his song “Is this Love.” The all-ages show kicks off at 8 p.m., with discounts on admission up until 10 p.m.

Lokal is having former Sonoman Erik Lindquist back for yet another encore performance with his trio on Saturday, Nov. 27. Lindquist and his trio have been recording and spending time in Los Angeles, along with making occasional appearances here in Sonoma Valley. Showtime is 6:30 p.m. Lokal is at 522 Broadway, directly across from Sonoma Valley Music.

Mondo American Beer Garden has Alligator and Bayou Boogie tonight, Nov. 26 for a 7 p.m. show. Alligator played to rave reviews the last time he was in town. There is no cover for the show.

The Olde Sonoma Public House in Boyes Hot Springs will have BackTrax tonight, Nov. 26, for a multi-band tribute show. The band will lay down a set from each of the owners favorite bands. Coley and Jo love the Rolling Stones and Tom Petty, so BackTrax will be doing a set of classics from each band. Showtime is 7:30 p.m. and there is no cover.

The Plaza Bistro has the Pete Yellin Trio for a night of jazz tonight, Nov. 26, kicking off at 7 p.m. Yellin is considered a world class alto saxophonist and educator. A native of New York, Yellin has toured and recorded with many of the seminal names in jazz, among them Joe Henderson, Tito Puente, Buddy Rich, Lionel Hampton, Eddie Palmieri, and more. The show in the back room kicks off at 7 p.m. and there is no cover.

Steiners Tavern will have Sue Albano and Mark Dennis tonight, Nov. 26, for a show that will involve a surprise drummer appearance. Showtime is 7 p.m. and there is no cover.

Sebastiani Winery and Vineyards will have no music, and that’s not the name of a band, tonight, Nov. 26, due to a special event at the winery.

Murphy’s Irish Pub will have the David Thom Band tonight, Nov. 26, at 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 27, has the Americana and delta-blues sounds of Loose Shoes, also for an 8 p.m. show. Sunday, Nov. 28, has an early show kicking off at 6 p.m. with Dave Aguilar and Peter McCauley playing anything but Celtic music. There is no cover for any of the shows at the pub.

Olive & Vine has Cynthia Tarr for a 7:15 p.m. show tonight, Nov. 26.

The Big 3 Diner has Jon Popenoe for a solo show on Monday, Nov. 29, at 7 p.m.

Showcase the Band will be on the road to Papa’s Taverna in Petaluma tonight, Nov. 26, for a 7 p.m. show.
