
You may have heard the name; the band has been performing around Sonoma County since the early ‘80s, and now is your chance to catch Midnight Sun Massive tonight, Aug. 26, at Murphy’s Irish Pub, for an 8 p.m. show. The band plays a mix or calypso and Caribbean reggae music, and all the musicians in the band are multi-instrumental and write songs as well. The band has shared the stage with the likes of Pato Banton, Sly Stone, the Neville Bros., Jorge Santana, Jimmy Cliff and more. The show starts at 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, the pub brings in High Country, for an evening of contemporary and traditional bluegrass, also for an 8 p.m. show. Sunday, Aug. 28, has Dave Aguilar and Peter McCauley of Tudo Bem, playing everything except Celtic music. That show is an early show, kicking off at 6:30 p.m. There is no cover for any of the shows at the pub.
The Plaza Bistro has the Essiet Okon Essiet Trio in the backroom tonight, Aug. 26, for a 7 p.m. show. Originally from West Africa, Essiet now hails from New York and has played with the likes of performed with premiere Latin artists including Eddie Palmieri, the Fort Apache Band, Danilo Perez and more. With him tonight will be Sylvia Cuenca on drums and Grant Levin on piano. Saturday, Aug. 27, brings in local Stephanie Ozer from Glen Ellen. Ozer is a masterful piano player and has a performing degree from University of Michigan. With her will be Mary Fettig on flute and saxophone. Showtime is 7 p.m. and there is no cover either night.
Jess Petty and Ken Chambers are back at the Ledson Lounge on Saturday, Aug. 27, for a 6 p.m. show.

Sebastiani Winery and Vineyards continues the once-a-month food truck event tonight, Aug. 26, and features an appearance by Deborah Winters in the tasting room. Showtime is 6:30 p.m. and there is no cover.
Landmark Winery and Vineyards welcomes Rue Manouche to the patio on Saturday, Aug. 27, for a 1 p.m. show. The band performs a kind of French pop mixed with gypsy jazz. There is no cover for the show and the event is family and dog friendly.
JoyRide will be doing a special show at the Presentation School “Back to School Picnic” on Sunday, Aug. 28, for a 4 p.m. start at the school.

The Katmandu Corner welcomes in the Penny Hens, playing Americana music on Friday, Aug. 26, for a 7:30 p.m. show. Saturday, Aug. 27, Sean Carscadden is at the corner, as a solo act, also at 7:30 p.m. There is no cover.
The Olde Sonoma Public House welcomes, from Los Angeles, the rock duo City Fritters Saturday, Aug. 27, for a 7:30 p.m. show. There is no cover. Back at the Olde Sonoma, by popular demand, is karaoke with Cat Smith and friends on Sunday, Aug. 28, kicking off at 7 p.m.
