The “Winter Music Series” continues on the Rotary Stage in Andrews Hall at the Sonoma Community Center on Saturday, March 7, with a performance from Cynthia Tarr & Band. Tarr, who is also the music director for the community center, will be performing songs from her soon to be released album, “Here’s to Life” which was partially funded in the social media world with a kickstarter campaign. The act showcases a variety of musical genres, including ballads, shuffles, rock and roll and even some jazz. Tarr has been a singer-songwriter for over 25 years and has played with the likes of Ray Charles, Solomon Burke, Mike Love, the Manhattan Transfer and more. With her that night will be Cliff Hugo on bass, Kendrick Freidman on drums and Jean-Michel Hure on guitar. Showtime that night is 7:30 p.m. with doors at 7 p.m. Tickets will be available at the door or in advance at the center box office or at svbo.org.

The Sonoma Valley Regional Library will be presenting sounds of India on Saturday, March 7, when Peter van Gelder will be performing on the sitar, accompanied by Samrat Kakkeri from Hyderabad, India on tablas. In addition to performing “raga” and explaining what it is, they will also be playing and discussing the Indian classical music style called “tala.” van Gelder is a fixture in the Indian music circuit, playing on film scores and drama presentations and performing throughout the world as well as giving lectures on the subject at American universities. Kakkeri was considered a child prodigy on the tabla and has performed al over India. There is no cover for the show, which starts at 2 p.m. and the public is welcome.

The Huichica Music Festival has announced the dates and acts for the annual festival, held at Gundlach Bundschu Winery, and this year there will be a twist. In addition to acts in the hillside amphitheater, there will be stages in the newly-retrofitted redwood barn and in front of the cave on the “cave stage.” The dates are Friday and Saturday, June 12 -13, with festivities planned for each day. The scheduled acts include Allah-Las, Atlas Sound, Amen Dunes, Jessica Pratt Shannon & the Clams, Sonny & the Sunsets, Gap Dream, Fresh & Onlys, EDJ, Pure Bathing, Culture, the Tyde, GospelbeacH, the Donkeys, Trummors, William Tyler, Ryley Walker, Kacey Johansing and Mariee Sioux. Local community television station SVTV will debut a local musician series called “Live from KSVY Studio B” that will feature a local musician performing weekly on the channel each Sunday at 7 p.m. This Sunday, March 8, the show will feature Dave Aguilar and there will be a viewing party at the Jack London Saloon in Glen Ellen. You can find the channel on Comcast channel 27 or stream it live at ksvy.org and click “watch SVTV.”

Rossi’s 1906 presents the Country Kickin’ Girls and Diamond Ridge tonight, March 6, for a night of country music and line dancing. Line dancing lessons start at 8 p.m. and the show starts at 9 p.m. Saturday, March 7, it’s classic rock dance songs with BackTrax . The show also kicks off at 9 p.m.

Burgers and Vine presents the Highway Poets tonight, March 6, for the 9:30 p.m. start. Saturday, March 7, it’s Roots and Frenz for a night of reggae DJ music. On the bill is DJ Robert Roots, DJ Cal, DJ Hi-C and Joshua Hales. There will also be a laser light show. That show also kicks off at 9:30 p.m.

The Annex Wine Bar presents the Cork Pullers tonight, March 6, playing originals and folk standards kicking off at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 7, it’s Tilted Halos which also kicks off at 7:30 p.m. There is no cover but the venue is 21 and over only. The Erik James Tasting Room has music tonight, March 6, with Dallis Craft , Garth Webber, Gary Silva and Paul Oguin. Saturday, March 7, it’s S.E.Willis, Bobby Cochran and Ed Earley. Sunday, March 8, it’s “Diva Singer Night and Community Jam – A Celebration of Famous Female Singers” hosted by vocal coach Dallis Craft and drummer Karla Downey. All shows start at 7:30 p.m. There is no cover any night, but there is a $10 minimum.

The Plaza Bistro welcomes Amanda King tonight, March 6, for a 7 p.m. start. There is no cover.

HopMonk Tavern Sonoma has Sean Carscadden tonight, March 6, for an 8 p.m. showtime. Saturday, March 7, it’s Bryan Goodrich, also for an 8 p.m. start.

Murphy’s Irish Pub has Full Circle with Katie Benz tonight, March 6, kicking off at 8 p.m. Saturday, March 7, it’s guitar night with Andrew Freeman, also kicking off at 8 p.m. Sunday, March 8, it’s Winoceros, kicking off at 7:30 p.m.

The Epicurean Connection presents the Jellyrolls on Friday, March 6, for a 7:30 p.m. show. Saturday, March 7, it’s John Underwood and Elspeth Summers, also for a 7:30 p.m. show. Sundy it’s an early show and a special performance from Olivia Davis, kicking off at 1 p.m. Davis is an up and coming Americana singer-songwriter who recently opened for Peter Bradley Adams at the Sweetwater Music Hall. There is no cover for any of the shows.

B. R. Cohn Winery has the Cork Pullers on the tasting room lawn for a 2 p.m. show on Sunday, March 8. The public is invited, bit no outside alcohol is allowed.

Sonoma Soul will be at the Hotbox Grill on Sunday, March 8, for a 6 p.m. show.

Olde Sonoma Public House has karaoke on Sunday, March 8, starting at 7:30 p.m.

The Blue Moon Salon has Karaoke on Saturday, March 7, starting at 9 p.m. It’s the continuation of the blues jam on Sunday, March 8, starting at 9:30 p.m. There is no cover.
