Benefit for Sonoma Charter School has Sue and Friends

Sue Albano and her Handsome Men, Mark Dennis and Bob Edmondson, will be providing the musical entertainment for the Sonoma Charter School fundraiser on Saturday, Oct. 16, kicking off at 6:30 p.m. at the Sonoma Charter School. The event is to help fund the field trips for the fourth – eighth grade classes. There will be baked goods, finger foods and beverages available for sale. There will also be a wine raffle and more. If you can’t see Sue and the men on Saturday, you can catch the act tonight, Oct. 15, at Steiners Tavern for a 7 p.m. start time.

Local picker and grinner Adam Traum has released an instructional DVD on Homespun Tapes on how to play the blues with a flat pick. Traum also does some jamming with his dad on the disc, Greenwich Village legend Happy Traum. If you’ve seen Traum playing around town, you know the man knows how to pick a bit. The Plaza Bistro will have Eric Muhler in the Wine Bar tonight, Oct. 15, at 7 p.m. Muhler and his San Francisco based trio have been making a statement lately, with sounds reminiscent of Keith Jarrett in rhythmic character. Muhler brings a remarkable technique and style to his original and standard piano compositions. There is no cover for the show.

Jess Petty and Ken Chambers will be at the Ledson Lounge on the Plaza tonight, Oct. 15, at 6 p.m.

Sebastiani Winery and Vineyards will have BackTrax with King Daddy Murr on congas tonight, Oct. 15, at 6:30 p.m. King Daddy is inviting all conga players to step up and sit in for a tune or two.

The Lodge at Sonoma has Terry Disley in the piano lounge tonight, Oct. 15, for a 7 p.m. show. Saturday, Oct. 16, has Mike Greensill tickling the ivories, also for a 7 p.m. show. There is no cover either night.

Murphy’s Irish Pub will have the Kelly & Jekel Duo tonight, Oct. 15, at 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 16, brings in the Perfect Crime playing folk, blues and ballads, also at 8 p.m. Sunday. Oct. 17, has Blue House laying down an eclectic mix of folk and rock with a little R & B thrown in for good measure. That show kicks off at 6 p.m.

The Schellville Grill welcomes EZ Kewl for a dinner set Saturday, Oct. 16, for a 7 p.m. start. If you miss the boys then, you can catch them Sunday, Oct. 17, at Imagery Estate Winery for a 1:30 p.m. show.

Mondo American Beer Garden has the sometimes different, always entertaining, sounds of the Ralph Cetola Experience on Saturday, Oct. 16, for a 7 p.m. show.

Olive & Vine in Glen Ellen welcomes Three at Last to the cafe for their debut performance tonight, Oct. 15, for a 7 p.m. show. Described as a cross between CS&N and Shawn Colvin, the original singer-songwriters bring a variety of instruments to the table for their tunes. There is no cover for the show.

Lokal Restaurant will have Sonoma native Eric Lindquist and the Expendable Trio for an evening of soft jazz on Saturday, Oct. 16, at 6:30 p.m.

The El Verano Inn has the Po8’s on Saturday, Oct. 16, for a 9:30 p.m. show. The band features Isaac Carter and Phil Herrschaft. Carter just did a stint last week opening for Joe Satriani at the Uptown Theater in Napa and really wowed the crowd. There is no cover.

Taste of the Himalayas welcomes Ragas to Riches on Monday, Oct. 18, for a 7 p.m. show.

Stan Pappas, along with Mad and Eddie Duran are making an appearance at Silo’s Jazz Club in Napa on Saturday, Oct. 16, for an 8 p.m. show.

Points North, with guitarist Eric Barnett, will be at Time Out in Concord tonight, Oct. 15, for a 7:30 p.m. show.
